Now I turn the spotlight on my smart and sexy book...Stranger Danger.

As an Evernight author over the past four years (yes, I signed early with Evernight Publishing for my very first title, Wolfe’s Lady, and now I’m very proud to have a total of eighteen titles with Evernight.  They range from full length novels to shorter Romance on The Go selections.  I write in several romance genres so I have a title for every taste, everything from vampires and shifters to contemporary romance and romantic suspense.  I have several more titles upcoming in the future as well. I also made three of the popular anthologies as well!  It was hard to select a title to focus on because I have a personal connection to everything I write.  When I’m asked which is my favorite, it’s hard to narrow it down to one…similar to when people ask about which child is the favorite.

I selected Stranger Danger for the birthday celebration, though, because it’s one of my favorites.  I love Santiago Ruiz and I’m a sucker for the former lovers who reunite, especially if it’s under dangerous, unexpected conditions.  I live in the Ozark region, located in the center of the United States, and although I’m not a native, I often use the area as the setting for my fiction.

Here’s the blurb for Stranger Danger:
Sara English built a life for herself far from her native Los Angeles.  As a widow and proprietor of a florist shop in small town America, she lives a mundane life but she’s never forgotten her first love, Santiago Ruiz or the way he hurt her.  When he shows up at her door early one morning, he’s a stranger but the old attraction hasn’t died.  Last she knew, he was a cop but now he’s sporting a gang tattoo on his back and he’s on the run.  When she freaks out, Santiago swears he’s been in deep cover as Javier Morales for two years but his cover was blown and he’s in danger.  As their reunion heats up, the drama reaches a new level when her apartment windows are shattered in a burst of gunfire.  They go on the run, first to an isolated mobile home, then to a casino, and then to Tulsa, Oklahoma where a showdown with the gang’s leader is inevitable.  Unless Santiago can find a way to change things, he’s a dead man.  Sara’s committed to the long haul and hopes for a happy ending – if they can live long enough to find one.

And how about a little taste? A teaser to whet your appetite for more Santiago!

He pulled her against him, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her, hard and deep.  His lips burned unholy fire against her mouth and against her will, every nerve ending in her body sang a rock and roll tune.  His tongue forced entry into her mouth and he French kissed her until she couldn’t breathe.  Heat erupted and spread all the way down to her toes.  A dizzy sweetness rushed her veins until his rank stench offended her nose so much she broke free.
“God, you smell.  What was that, anyway?”
                         “Adrenalin, mostly,” he said.

If you’re curious how and where I found my inspiration, here’s a link to a feature about me and the story:
Interview Apex Reviews Above The Fold – Stranger Danger

Stranger Danger has earned some five star reviews around the internet….here’s one from Manic Readers:

"I am a fan of Murphy’s, and love her word pictures which allow me to visit an area of the world I have never seen. I also love her multi-faceted characters, who, for the most part, are regular folks, not billionaires or high flying athletes or fearless SEALS. They shop at Wal-Mart, drive non-descript cars, and fall in love. There’s usually an element of danger, and here, I was mesmerized by the flight of Sara and Santiago, as they sought to re-affirm their long lost love, while trying to escape from the bad guys who will stop at nothing to kill them.
In Stranger Danger, the sex is hot, the mystery is great, the people are wonderfully described, and the dialog is believable and well-done. Keep it up, Lee Ann!"

And a candid reader review found on both Amazon.com and the Evernight Publishing website from Bev Stuart who gave it five stars and said:
I loved it! I was in the story beginning to end. Romance and excitement through the whole book. Enjoyed it.”

  10. Congrats on all of your success! I do believe in second chance love. People change, circumstances arent always what they seem. People grow too. I love the idea of second chance love. Either a couple coming back together or someone finding a second love after losing the first. Thank you for the fantastic hop!
