Welcome To Liz Crowe And Her Muse Hans!

A warm welcome today as we welcome author Liz Crowe here at A Page In The Life and at our sister blog, Author In The House. We'll sit down with a cup of, wait, since Liz owns a craft microbrewery, the drink in our hands should be beer. So we're settled in with some good brew and we'll kick back to talk a little shop.

Liz Crowe writes for several publishers including Rebel Ink Press (Vegas Miracle), Breathless Press (Brewing Passions series), Decadent Publishing, and now Tri-Destiny Publishing. Liz is the flagship author for Tri-Destiny's new Sizzlin' Books line with the launch of Floor Time, first of The Realtors series.

She's a busy woman - and a talented one - so let's get down to the interview.
Why do you write?

I love the creative outlet and crave it like a junkie craves crack. Seriously I am nearly constantly head writing or revising or coming up with something new. Hans, my lederhosen wearing, six-pack ab, six foot five blonde haired blue eyed hunk of a muse has gone into serious overdrive and seems to be on creative Viagra lately. Ahem.

What was the first thing you ever wrote?

Actually the first novel I ever wrote has undergone about a million revisions, done a 180 in terms of motivation for the Hero and is finally getting released this month! Floor Time, first of The Realtors Series will launch the Sizzling Books line for Tri-Destiny Publishing a new kid on the e-block.

Jack Gordon is Ann Arbor's most delectable bachelor.
At age thirty five, he's made millions as a top-selling Ann Arbor real estate broker and has the right connections to close a deal by any means necessary. With his rugged good looks and compelling personality he has a virtual black book most men would kill for and he uses it often, never settling for one woman for very long.

While his D/s past is buried, exactly where he wants it, an undercurrent of boredom and dissatisfaction runs through his life now. A disastrous experience years earlier made him swear off the whole scene, but the more Jack suppresses his natural Dom, the more his frustration grows.
Sara Thornton, just a rookie in the field, has fast-tracked herself to the top of the Ann Arbor real estate market. Her life is disciplined and focused, exactly what she wants. But as her career takes off, the fulfillment she seeks remains inexplicably out of reach. The one thing she knows for sure, she will not join the Jack Gordon groupies in her company, no matter how tempting that might seem.

A chance encounter, then a difficult transaction, throw Jack and Sara together and the sparks fly high and hot and often. Forced to confront the compulsions that gain momentum with each sizzling encounter, their relationship seems to spiral out of control until Jack finally admits what he needs, and shows Sara what she's been missing.
What’s your favorite destination when you want to unwind or have fun?

Ha! Who does THAT? Oh, Okay. It’s trite. But it’s Las Vegas baby and I’m headed there Monday for a whole week! Woo hoo! I don’t gamble but the spouse does. We are there for the consumer electronics show ostensibly. But for shows, great bars, nightclubs and long stretches in a great hotel (Paris this time) where I can WRITE while he walks the expo floor.

What’s the inspiration behind your current release?

Caught Offside was inspired by my favorite sport: soccer. I love it. The men who play it are among the most fit of all professional athletes and many are very very handsome.

Ramon Castillo, world famous soccer player and international playboy has been brought low by a career-ending injury. After the humiliation of a shattered leg at the World Cup final he has spent a year in surgeries and painful therapies, the last three months of which are at the Castillo resort in Las Vegas under the watchful eye of his cousin. But Ramon’s lack of interest in soccer, women, or in anything besides the black jack tables has Jackson worried.
Gillian Winter, catering and banquet manager for the MGM Grand Hotel is nurturing her own deep wounds. Her beloved husband has died unexpectedly, leaving her with a young son whose one dream is to meet his hero: Number 17 on the American National Soccer team, Ramon Castillo. When an apparent chance encounter in the lobby of the MGM reveals Ramon's presence in their midst, everyone's lives are changed forever.

Can Madame Eve work her magic and bring true healing to Ramon and Gillian? Or is it too late?

Share some goals a year from now and five years from now.

In one year I hope to have added a marquee publisher (I have a project that’s under R&R for one of them now) and added tons of fans for my still expanding Turkish Delights series and the planned expansion of the “Soccer Studs” series (working title hahahaaha!) both for Decadent Publishing.

I also plan to have hit it huge with my REALTORS series as a sweeping epic tale, with many side characters jumping off into their own, highly sought after stories.

In five years I plan to have an agent, and a New York contract.

What other occupation do you have (or did have) in addition to writing? Or, in short, what’s your day job?

I own and market a craft microbrewery. The Wolverine State Brewing Co in Ann Arbor is also doing VERY well, having made a profit in its first year and 2012 is starting off GANGBUSTERS already!

I stay pretty busy.

Share a memory that made it into some of your writing.

Well, there was this really naughty massage I got…it was the basis for a pivotal scene in my ménage romance Vegas Miracle from Rebel Ink Press. That story will remain forever one of my favorites. Not just because a naughty massage inspired it but because it’s a story of marital infidelity, forgiveness and redemption. And the heroine gets not one but TWO hot husbands.

Self-promotion – love it or hate it?

Need it. No love or hate involved. I do so much of it for my brewery it comes pretty naturally to me.

It’s hard to “teach” though. You either know (or absorb) how to use every possible excuse to promote yourself without being an annoying spammer or you don’t.
